# Redirects, file links and QR codes from any Airtable record

> A public link per record that serves one field: a redirect, an image, a file or a QR code. No app code.

Turn a field on any Airtable record into a working public link (redirect, image, download or QR code) without writing an endpoint.

Plenty of what a business needs from its data isn't a page. It's a single link. A redirect for an
affiliate offer. A QR code on a printed label. A download link in an email. An image to embed in a
newsletter. Each one usually means a small endpoint someone has to write, host and keep alive, just
to read one field from one record.

A **Quick Proxy** is that endpoint, ready-made. It's a public link of the form
`/quick/<app>/<proxy>/<key>`: the key finds a record, and the proxy serves one field of it. There's
no app code, and the data stays in Airtable, so changing the field changes what the link does.

## Five kinds of link

- **Link redirect.** Sends the visitor to the URL held in a field: an affiliate link, an outbound
offer, a short link you manage in Airtable. Hosts you list redirect straight away. Any other host
gets an interstitial first, so the link can never be abused as an open redirect.
- **Image.** Serves an attachment field as an image, cached at the edge. Use it in emails,
newsletters or anywhere you need a plain image URL.
- **File link.** A permanent link to an attachment. Airtable's own attachment links expire, and this
  one doesn't (see [media caching](/products/vibekit/features/stable-images)).
- **File redirect.** A download link that always points at the record's current file, so replacing
the attachment in Airtable updates every link already sent out.
- **QR code.** An SVG QR code of a link held in a field, for menus, labels, badges, posters and
  packaging.

## Keyed by something you already show

The key is usually a field your records already have and your app already displays: a slug, an
offer code or an autonumber. So `…/spring-sale` or `…/1042` works the way you'd expect. For links
built inside Airtable itself, such as a formula field that writes each record's QR code URL, the key
can be the record ID instead.

## Public by design, so choose the field carefully

A Quick Proxy serves its one field for every record in the table to anyone who has a key,
whatever the app's sign-in or field rules say. That's the point: these links go in emails and on
printed paper. It also means the field you choose must be something you'd publish. VibeKit asks
the owner to confirm before one is created, and each Quick Proxy reads through a table and view
your app already uses.

## Set up by your agent

Your coding agent creates Quick Proxies over VibeKit's MCP, the same way it sets up the rest of
your backend, and gets back the link template to use in your app, your emails or an Airtable
formula field.
